Class: Oriental Belly Dance - Beginning
Since its introduction in the United States at the Colombian Exposition in 1893, Oriental Dance has been entangled in myth and misconception in the Western world. This course, open to men and women, will introduce the rich and diverse world of Oriental dance, covering some of the many styles, including modern Egyptian, Turkish, classic Lebanese, and some of the Western influences. The student will learn basic posture, movements, isolations, rhythms, and music. Come explore the health benefits of one of the oldest dance forms in the world!
